After the inspection, the applicant must produce a written home inspection report, which will be reviewed by the supervising Ohio licensed home inspector.
The licensed home inspector is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, correcting (if needed), and returning the report to the applicant within ten calendar days.
The licensed home inspector must provide guidance throughout the inspection and report writing processes, ensuring compliance with the Ohio Standards of Practice and Canons of Ethics.
A licensed home inspector may supervise a maximum of two applicants conducting a parallel inspection on the same property at the same time.
Eligibility Criteria for Supervising Inspectors
- The Ohio licensed home inspector must have an active license at the time of the parallel inspection.
- They must not have been subject to disciplinary action in the past three years.
Parallel Inspection Affidavit
Both the applicant and the supervising home inspector must complete a parallel inspection affidavit, listing all inspected properties. The affidavit is submitted as proof of the parallel inspection experience. Additional reports or work files may be requested by the Ohio Home Inspector Board to verify compliance.
